FACTS

In Remnant Protocol, players take control of a secret rebel base called the Sanctuary. From there, they must coordinate a galactic uprising while protecting their base from detection by enemy forces.

Gameplay is divided into two main areas: Intense space combat from a cockpit perspective and strategic decisions in managing the rebel base. As a commander, players must allocate limited resources and personnel to various areas such as research, shipbuilding, espionage, and recruitment.

Each gameplay experience is designed to be unique through procedurally generated missions and dynamic storytelling. The developers emphasize that every decision and every battle has an impact.

You can now add Remnant Protocol to your wishlist in the Horizon Store and on Steam. Meta is backing the development and is an official publishing partner. Remnant Protocol is currently scheduled for release in Q4 of 2025.

CONTEXT

Meta Quest needs more space sims

Remnant Protocol was announced more than two years ago as a PC-only flat game. Now, with the support of Meta, it is being released for virtual reality.

Developer Progenitor sees the game as a new genre mix that aims to bridge the gap between traditional strategy games and immersive VR combat simulators.

Remnant Protocol will certainly fill a gap on the Quest platform: Space Sims are in short supply there, which was probably one of the reasons for Meta to get involved in the project.
